چکیده

We show both numerically and experimentally that a phase modulator, acting as a time lens in the Fourier-lens configuration, can induce spectral broadening, narrowing, or shifts, depending on the phase of the modulator cycle. These spectral effects depend on the maximum phase shift that can be imposed by the modulator. In our numerical simulations, pulse spectrum could be compressed by a factor of 8 for a 30 rad phase shift. Experimentally, spectral shifts over a 1.35 nm range and spectral narrowing and broadening by a factor of 2 were demonstrated using a lithium niobate phase modulator with a maximum phase shift of 16 rad at a 10 GHz modulation frequency. All spectral changes were accomplished without employing optical nonlinear effects such as selfor cross-phase modulation. © 2015 Optical Society of America

Using a combination of genetic algorithm and particle swarm optimization algorithm for GEMTIP modeling of spectral-induced polarization data

The generalized effective-medium theory of induced polarization (GEMTIP) is a newly developed relaxation model that incorporates the petro-physical and structural characteristics of polarizable rocks in the grain/porous scale to model their complex resistivity/conductivity spectra. The inversion of the GEMTIP relaxation model parameter from spectral-induced polarization data is a challenging is...

A Hysteretic Two-phase Supply Modulator for Envelope Tracking RF Power Amplifiers

In this paper a two-phase supply modulator suitable for envelope tracking power amplifier is presented. The designed supply modulator has the linear assisted switching architecture. Two-phase architecture is used in order to reduce the output switching ripples. The proposed architecture uses hysteretic control instead of pulse width modulation (PWM) which significantly reduces the circuit compl...

Broadband Phase Modulating System for White-Light Fourier Transformations

We discuss a white-light processing system that produces a dynamic, achromatic Fourier transformation over the visible spectrum. The system includes an achromatic Fourier transform lens system and a lowdispersion spatial light modulator. A programmable phase mask can only write patterns with a spatial frequency appropriate for one wavelength. However, this problem is resolved by scaling broadba...
